On Tuesday 3rd March 2009, 26 young people from across the Wealden district met at East Sussex Golf Resort and Spa Hotel near Uckfield. The young people were aged between 12 and 16 years old.
The forum was led by the two East Sussex Youth Cabinet Members for Wealden, James Davies and Laura Hickmott.
In the morning the young people decided what the key issues are facing young people in Wealden today. These issues were then fine-tuned and discussed with community leaders over and after lunch.

The Community leaders taking part came from the following organisations
- Wealden District Council
- The Safer Wealden Partnership
- East Sussex County Council
- Sussex Police
- East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service
- East Sussex Downs and Wealden NHS Primary Care Trust
- Freedom Leisure
