There are plans to transform a derelict outdoor swimming pool site at Uplands Community College into a first class community arts and youth facility.
Included in the scheme would be spaces for the whole range of arts development including areas for design, performance, youth activities, and opportunities for young people to contribute to the media through film, radio and television.
This development would serve the interests of a wide range of young people by offering arts, music, sports, and media opportunities. By working in partnership with the Youth Development Service, it would be the access point for the Information, Advice and Guidance to young people and the base for all youth work.
The centre would be used by the young people during school hours but will also be accessible at evenings and weekends.
