Thinking Safety |
Travelling by Foot & Bicycle |
Try not to walk alone, stay with friends for as long as you can
- Plan your route, keep to busy roads with lots of light and if possible avoid alleyways and subways.
- Be aware of parked cars with their engines running and people sitting in them, avoid passing them if you can and keep your distance.
- Never accept a lift from a stranger or somebody you don’t know or trust.
- Don’t stop on your route home, this can make you vulnerable.
- If a vehicle pulls up next to you and follows you, quickly turn and walk the other way – you can turn quicker than a car.
- Don’t carry too many bags, try keeping both your hands free.
