Public transport is normally very safe, but sometimes things can go wrong. So there a some things you should remember:
- When waiting for a bus or train stand in an area with lots of light.
When travelling alone get someone to meet you at the destination, also call them just before you get there so they know you're arriving.
- Sit where you can see the driver or a guard.
- When on a train being in a busy carriage is the safest place to be.
- If you feel unsafe don’t be embarrassed to move away or tell someone.
- Always look where the nearest alarm is.
