Thinking Safety

Buses & Trains

Public transport is normally very safe, but sometimes things can go wrong. So there a some things you should remember:

  • When waiting for a bus or train stand in an area with lots of light.
  • Inside busWhen travelling alone get someone to meet you at the destination, also call them just before you get there so they know you're arriving.
  • Sit where you can see the driver or a guard.
  • When on a train being in a busy carriage is the safest place to be.
  • If you feel unsafe don’t be embarrassed to move away or tell someone.
  • Always look where the nearest alarm is.
