Here are some tips to keep your teeth and gums healthy and to keep your breath fresh and a great looking smile!
Bad breath
Bad breath is usually caused by the bacteria that sticks on your teeth every day. That’s the white scummy stuff that makes your teeth feel furry. Brush your teeth thoroughly twice a day with a small-headed toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste, especially brushing by the gums. Brushing will certainly keep your gums healthy and your breath fresh.
Healthy teeth
Keep your teeth healthy by avoiding those sugary snacks and drinks between meals. The acid produced by the sugary things in your mouth dissolves the teeth and the rotting process starts! Having snacks and drinks that aren’t sugary between meals like fresh fruit and vegetables, sandwiches, cheese and crackers, means that you will have less fillings at the dentist and less calories added to your waistline! Drinking plenty water is brilliant for healthy teeth and skin, and milk is great too.
Check ups
Have regular check-ups at the dentist to make sure that all is well. Many teenagers need braces to straighten their teeth. If you need to wear a brace, your brushing really has to be up to scratch. But think of that lovely smile when the braces come off and your teeth are straight!
