Giving up smoking

Giving up smoking is difficult, but every year thousands of people manage it.

You can get help from your local NHS Stop Smoking Service – they will offer you one to one appointments or get you to join a group of other people wanting to quit and offer you support throughout your quit attempt. In this area you can get appointments in Peacehaven, Newhaven, Lewes, Crowborough, Uckfield, Heathfield, Forest Row, Barcombe and many other locations. You can also just ring if you want advice over the phone – the number is: 01825 745045.

Here are just ten reasons for giving up:

1. To have more money for other things – just think how much money you could save and spend on some thing else
2. To be healthier
3. To live longer
4. To have more energy and feel fitter
5. To feel more attractive through smelling nicer and having better skin, hair and teeth.
6. To be able to enjoy food and drink again – smoking affects your taste buds.
7. To feel in control and stop worrying about when and where you are next going to be able to smoke
8. To stop helping big tobacco companies make bigger profits
9. To have a healthy sex life, and in the future a healthy baby
10. To not damage the environment with tobacco farms and factories

You will feel better and have health benefits within 20 minutes of quitting smoking.
