What a load of rubbish!

Help to reduce waste ...

You may have seen a blue box for paper, cans and foil and a wheelie bin for garden rubbish and cardboard at your house, or maybe you have taken your glass, paper, cans and plastic bottles to a recycling bank, but do you know why? And what can you do to help the environment?

We all make rubbish everyday and the amount of rubbish that we are producing is increasing all the time. Every one and a half hours in the UK we are producing enough rubbish to fill your local swimming pool! In Wealden each year we produce over 50,000 tonnes of rubbish. That’s enough to completely fill a football pitch piled over 10 metres high!

We need your help!

It's up to you to look after your environment for the future and being aware of rubbish and recycling is a very important part of that.

What can you do to help?

How you can easily help everyday & play your part.
