But have you ever noticed how most people dwell on the bad news and ignore the good stuff? After a time we end up doing that as well.
It is like getting some exam results with grades A, A, B and people will say: "pity about the B" - rather than saying your a genius!
This negativity is common in all areas of life and it can drag you down and end up making you feel not very good about yourself.
Of course in life we all make mistakes and do things we shouldn't, but the trick is to learn from those mistakes and move on. Do not dwell on them.
Instead focus on your successes and celebrate them.
Here's a tip...
- Start making a success list. Everytime you do something special, like making a new friend, getting some good exam results, get praise from someone you respect, in fact anything that has made you feel good, jot it down on a piece of paper or in your diary. Keep this list to yourself. You will be surprised how long it gets in no time at all. Then, when things aren't going well for you, get out your success list and give it a read through, just to remind yourself how fab you are.
